It is a specialty of Shanghang County, Longyan City, Fujian Province, received agricultural product geographical indication registration protection from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China on December 25, 2020.
The Hangwan Honey pomelo has nearly round fruits with an average weight of 1750 grams per fruit. The flesh is white, juicy, and melts in the mouth, offering a balanced sweet and sour taste of international quality and splendid overall flavor. The fruit contains relatively few seeds, with a soluble solid content of 11-13%. The fruit matures from late December to early January. This variety is highly resistant to cold, does not crack or split, is suitable for long-term storage, and has broad adaptability, making it the leading late-maturing pomelo variety in China in terms of overall traits.
